How To: Add a Task in Nymbl Systems

Dec 08, 2023

What Tasks Allow You To Do

Generally, a new task is created when an action needs to completed. This allows you to keep track of next steps in one clean location. There are a number of ways to add a new task in Nymbl: using a notification message to generate a task, creating a task from a patients chart, or creating a task from scratch.

If you're using the new tasks page in Nymbl, we'll walk you through that process in the latter half of this post.

Adding a Task in V1

Option 1: Create a new task off a notification (the message will pull in automatically as the description) by clicking "Create Task".

Option 2: Create a new task on the V1 tasks page. Click on your name at the top,  then click "Tasks" from the dropdown menu.

Option 3: Create a new task on a patient's chart. Adding a task from here will save you the step of adding in the patient's name on the "Patient" field later on.

After clicking on New Task in any of these places, the below modal appears where you will:

  • Name the task
  • Add a description
  • Assign a user to the task
  • Note: If you are creating the task for yourself, you can leave the "User" field Blank.
  • Add the Patient
  • Add a Prescription *if needed
  • Add a Claim *if needed
  • Assign a Due Date & Priority level

A user will receive two notifications: first, when a new task has been assigned to them and second, on the date the task is due.

Note: The Task will automatically be marked as Read in your Notifications once you mark it completed.

Adding a Task in V2

Option 1: Create a task on the new "Tasks" page. Click on your Name at the top.  Then click "Tasks New!" from the dropdown & click on "+ Add New Task" in the top right corner or in the lefthand menu under "Productivity".

From there, click on the dropdown arrow to choose a task template or enter the desired task name. Then add the desired:

  • Assigned Used
  • Task Due Date

  1. .
  2. .

Then you can add:

  • Patient
  • Prescription *if needed

Nymbl Systems has partnered with the Limb Loss and Preservation Registry (LLPR) to make data collection and submission easier for O&P practices that participate in the effort. An automation within Nymbl’s software allows the transfer of LLPR-collected fields from practices to the database without any additional effort on a practitioner’s part. How it Works When an O&P practice using Nymbl Systems decides to participate with the LLPR, their first step is to contact the Nymbl Customer Support team. Then, Nymbl ‘flips a switch’ on their end and begins transmitting data from that practice to the LLPR data base. Users of Nymbl will be able to easily identify any fields transmitted to the LLPR from the business management platform; these fields are marked by a tooltip icon. “The information is automatically sent as employees and practitioners go about their daily routines,” Josh Lau, CEO of Nymbl Systems, said. “It’s designed to be seamless and eliminate any barriers for practices who want to contribute to this incredibly important effort.”

It’s hard to help others outside a niche industry “get” what you do. Even with an invested interest on both ends, an understanding can be challenging to reach. This is something that feels especially relevant given the latest updates in Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) coverage of Seat Elevation systems. See how Nymbl gets you.

Using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software system is a non-negotiable in the tool belt of healthcare providers today. But, finding the right software that has adapted to the Home Medical Equipment (HME) market is a challenge – one that is only surpassed by the challenge of actually implementing a new-to-you EMR system.

In the realm of DME (Durable Medical Equipment) billing and O&P (Orthotics and Prosthetics) billing, the role of clearing houses is a pivotal link between providers and insurance payers. Clearing houses, such as Waystar, are key players in smoothing the path of revenue cycle management. Many practitioners like to joke that insurance payers are more often in the business of denying claims than paying them… and from my point of view, they have a point. To maintain a stable stream of payments, you need a reliable system to help double, and triple check your work.

The significance of this act for orthotists, prosthetists, and their patients cannot be overstated – it represents a monumental shift towards patient-centered care and a statutory and regulatory separation of O&P from the umbrella of DME, allowing for more appropriate regulation in the future.

In the rapidly evolving landscape of home medical equipment (HME) providers, business leaders are increasingly confronted with a trio of challenges: navigating complex payer rules for claims, managing high turnover rates among billing specialists, and grappling with complicated software solutions that impede rather than enhance operational efficiency.

While other industries have stayed on the cutting edge of technological advances, DME’s legacy software providers have lagged in implementing new, proven technology. It’s time for a change. You deserve the best available technology to make sure you have the most seamless workflow solutions.
